Sanford Osborne "Mun" Allen ALLEN, SANFORD OSBORNE "MUN" - age 93, a longtime resident of Loudon County, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010. He was a member of First Baptist Church Lenoir City for over 60 years. Mun was former sheriff of Loudon County, former chief of police in Lenoir City and was retired from the Miami Dade County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of the Loudon County Republican Party and the Tennessee Sheriff's Association. Preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Estelle Sherrill Allen; his parents, Thomas and Rebecca Allen; along with his eleven brothers and sisters. Survived by his children, Preston Allen and wife, Claudia of Port Orange, FL, Barbara Luttrell and husband, Glenn, Debbie Wilson and husband, David, all of Lenoir City, Beverly Waldroup and husband, Gary of Gatlinburg; grandchildren, Mark Allen, Steve Luttrell and wife, Jane, Kenny Allen and wife, Stacey, Karen Hawk and husband, John, Kim Lager and husband, Mickey, Stephanie Moye, Richard Moye and wife, Melissa, Lindsey Wilson and Caitlin Waldroup; great-grandchildren, Darren Allen, Nicholas Lager, Kyle Lager, Jade Lager, Brandy Allen, Christopher Hawk, Chelsea Hawk, Cori Luttrell, Rachel Luttrell, Cali Moye, Ryder Moye, Aubrey Moye, Kailey Moye and Landon Moye; sister-in-law, Lucy Allen North; devoted niece, Elaine Thompson, several other nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff and care givers at Mountain View Assisted Living in Loudon and his special buddy, Joe. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Dr. Dick DeMerchant officiating. Burial will follow in the Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 2085 Simpson Road East, Lenoir City, TN 37772.
