John Copinga 1951 ~ 2006
John Copinga, 54, passed away April 25, 2006, due to complications from lymphoma. John was born in Groningen, The Netherlands and immigrated to the U.S. in 1953 with his family. He is survived by his partner Scott Chaffin, brother Hyo (Charlotte) Copinga, sisters Peggy (Huib) Hendriks, Marijke (Michael) Thornell, Lola (John Degen) Copinga, sister-in-law Sue Copinga, many nieces, nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jan H. and Stoffe E. Copinga, sister Hennie, and brothers Menco and Hank. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the University of Utah Hospital and the Huntsman Cancer Institute for their kindness and compassionate care.
