Edward was the first McFadden in our family tree to arrive in America. He first settled in Luzerne Co., PA during 1797 and then relocated a short time prior to 1800 to Irwin Township, Venango Co., PA. He farmed lands now belonging to the descendants of Major John Phipps.
Some of the Edward McFadden family was in Perry Co., Ohio by Dec 1818. Also the 1820 Census shows Edward was in Perry County, Ohio. They were present at the opening and blessing of St. Joseph's Chapel; which would become St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Somerset. Edward and his daughter Mary are registered ancestors of First Families of Ohio through the Ohio Genealogical Society. Shown to be living in Perry County, Ohio in 1817.
