Mrs. Berman was a lifelong member and former board member of B'Nai Israel Congregation and a former member and officer of its Sisterhood and a member of the Hadassah. She was a 30-year member and a former president of Norfolk Community Mikvah. She was a member of the Hebrew Nobles Association and was an active volunteer with the Beth Sholom Home of Eastern Virginia.
