Felix Zeinstra was born to Peter and Winnie (Vander Woude) Zeinstra on July 22, 1920 on the family farm two miles north of Holland, Minnesota where he was raised and attended country school in District #30. He later moved with his parents to a farm Northwest of Holland where he attended school in District #38. Upon completion of his education, he helped on the farm. In September, 1942, he entered the United States Army and served during World War II in Africa, Italy, Germany and France and fought in the Battle of the Bulge where he was a corporal in the 1st Armored Division as a tank driver. After his discharge from the service on November 26, 1945, he returned to Holland. On June 3, 1948, he was united in marriage to Cornelia Overgaauw in the Christian Reformed Church of Holland. Following their marriage, they lived on the farm for one year before moving into Holland. Felix was employed by Pipestone County and worked in road maintenance for seven years. He then became employed as a truck driver by the Ready-Mix Concrete Company in Pipestone. He later became the foreman at the concrete company and continued in this employment until his retirement in 1983. Over the past ten years, his emphysema slowly curtailed his activities, but he still managed to get around Holland in his golf cart. On Monday, April 21, 1997, Felix entered the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he died on Wednesday, April 23, 1997 at the age of 76 years, 9 months and one day.

Felix was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Holland. He was also a member of the Earl Gruis American Legion Post #534. In his younger years, he served on the Holland City Council and also on the Holland Volunteer Fire Department. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working in his garage as well as tending his yard and flower garden. He also enjoyed listening to hymns at home and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Cornelia Zeinstra of Holland, Minnesota; two sons, Al Zeinstra of Pipestone, Minnesota and Randy Zeinstra of Holland, Minnesota; two granddaughters, Malissa Bently of Ruthton, Minnesota, and Rebecca Zeinstra of New Rockford, North Dakota; two great-granddaughters, Andria and Ashlyn Bently; two brothers, Bernie Zeinstra of Holland, Minnesota, and Floyd Zeinstra of Pipestone, Minnesota; and two sisters, Claretta, Mrs. Bert Baartman and Pearl, Mrs. Keith Pritchett, both of Pipestone, Minnesota.
