She was born in Winona on May 28, 1902 to Henry and Sophia (Dionysius) Schaffer. She attended Winona area schools and worked at the family business, Schaffer's Drycleaners, for many years until her retirement in 1966.
She married Herbert Von Ruden in Winona on June 10, 1933 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Winona.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband, brother and son, Henry Von Ruden.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James (Audrey) Stutzka, Winona and Mrs. Delbert (Marian) Grossell, Mondovi, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m.Monday at the Martin-Myrhe Funeral Chapel in Winona.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
