Mrs. Sarah Cooper
Cooperstown - Mrs. Sarah Josephine Cooper, 85, of Bowerstown, died Wednesday April 17, in Jobmam Nursing Home, Worcester, after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday April 19 in the Cooperstown Methodist Church, The Rev. Albert Almstedt, pastor and the Rev. Frederick Connell, former pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.
Mrs. Cooper was born December 23, 1877, in Waldron County, Georgia, duaghter of James and Caroline (Ralmes) Lee.
She was married to Floyd Newton Cooper in December 906, in Rock Chapel, Georgia. Mr. Cooper died September 14, 1933.
Mrs. Cooper moved to Cooperstown in 1907, and in 1921, moved to Bowerstown, where she lived the rest of her life.
She was a member of the Cooperstown Methodist Church and was active in church activities as long as her health permitted.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Flora Olmsted, Maryland; five sons, James Cooper, Robertdale, Ala.; the Rev. Newton Cooper, North Valey; A. Lee Cooper, Rochester; Russel H. Cooper, at home; and L. Paul Cooper, Rochester; a brother, Marcus M.J. Lee, Atlanta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family will be in attendance at Tillapaugh Funeral Home, Cooperstown, From 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
