Tommy was my maternal uncle & Godfather at my baptism.

He was baptized by Monsignor Henry Van der Putten, pastor of St. Joseph's Church.

Social Security issued by the state of Massachusetts

Was on the muster rolls from June 30, 1940 to September 30, 1942 on the CV-7, USS Wasp - an aircraft carrier.
Fate: Hit by two torpedoes from Japanese submarine I-19, 15 Sep 1942, while operating in the Southwestern Pacific. The USS Wasp was ferrying British aircraft to the island of Malta when torpedoed in Guadalcanal. Gasoline fires became rapidly uncontrollable and she had to be abandoned. Scuttled (delibertly sunk) by USS Lansdowne (DD-486).
