DORA CALDER was born on February 16, 1864 in Minnesota. She was the fourth of four children born to BENJAMIN CALDER and JANE RARDIN (Benjamin's first wife).

Children of Benjamin Calder and Jane Rardin:
1. Alexander Calder
2. James Calder
3. William Calder
4. Dora Calder

When Dora was 4 years old, her mother Jane passed away in 1868 in Clinton Falls, Minnesota. Her father then married ELIZA PHELPS, and the family moved to Seward County, Nebraska, where they raised a large family which included children from their previous marriages.

Two additional children which were born to Benjamin Calder and Eliza Phelps … Mertle Calder and Minnie Lou Calder. In 1885, the family lived in Clearwater, Antelope County, Nebraska.

DORA CALDER married GEORGE W. RILEY on April 19, 1886 in Antelope, Nebraska.
The couple had three daughters:

1. Edna Riley (1890-1940) + [Ralph Emerson Bell]
2. Ruth Lucille Riley (1893-1985) + [Maberry Davis]
3. Gladys Florence Riley (1894-1989) + [Madison Davis]

Dora passed away at the age of 88 on April 10, 1952 at the farm home of her daughter Ruth Davis. George W. Riley passed away at the age of 67 on March 24, 1924. Dora Calder and George Riley are buried next to their daughter Ruth Lucille Riley and her husband Maberry Davis, in the Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston, Idaho.

The couple share a Double Monument which has engraved 'DAVIS' and 'RILEY' on the face. The couple is buried with their daughter Ruth Riley Davis and her husband Maberry Davis are buried in plots 1, 2, 3, and 4.
