Clifford O'Dell Taylor grew up in Owensboro, Ky. He was the son of Dorsey N. and Thelma Smith Taylor, who proceeded him in death.
His survivors include his wife, June Olberding Taylor, one daughter, Natalie Taylor Herrington of Bowling Green, Ky., and one son, Dell Taylor of Deputy, In.; his step mother, Rachel Taylor, one step brother, George Thacker, and one step sister, Mary Silvert, all of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Brandon and Taylor Herrington, Jake and Trey Taylor and several nieces and nephews.
He was the owner and operator of Taylor Tours and Cliff Taylor Fund Raising in Madison and founder of the Madison-Ohio Valley Community Chorus, directing 27 annual performances of Handel's Messiah. He was a former teacher of band and choir at Tell city, Cannelton, Paoli, Owensboro, Crawfordsville and Madison.
He was the recipient of the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award for 2001; president of the Madison-Ohio Valley Arts Council; choir director of Christ Episcopal Church and a former choir director of Madison Presbyterian Church; adjudicator for the Indiana State Music Education Association; director of local theater productions; an announcer for several area marching band competions; former entertainment chair for the Madison Main Street Celebration of Giving; former chairman of the Entertainment Committee of the Madison Chautauqua; and founded a community based band.
