Athens - Funeral for James Edison Adams, 69, of Athens was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. P. J. Jenkins officiating. Burial was to be in Sandlin Cemetery.

Mr. Adams died Tuesday, February 15, 2000, at his home. He was born April 3, 1930, in Limestone County, Alabama.

He was a member of the Somerville Church of God, a dairy farmer in Limestone County for most of his life and was retired as a weaver from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen S. Adams; three sons, Johnny C. Adams of Madison, Marshall Adams of Union Grove and Anthony Adams of Arab; two daughters, Janice Daniels and Marcella Pressnell, both of Madison; two brothers, Johnny D. Adams and C. Edward Adams, both of Athens; two sisters, Onnie Mae Hicks of Decatur and Lucille Tucker of Huntsville; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Jerry Adams, John Adams, Tommy Tucker, Steve Sims, and Joe Sims.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or the American Lung Association.
