EDMUND W. HALL DEAD
RESIDENT OF THIS COUNTY SINCE 1864 STRICKEN WITH TYPHOID PNEUMONIA

Took a Prominent Part in County Politics for Many Years Edmund W. Hall, who with his father, came to this county in 1864, passed away at the Naeve Hospital Thursday after being ill only four days with typhoid pneumonia. Mr. Hall had been enjoying his usual good health up to Saturday when he was first stricken. He was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon but the physician held out no hope for his recovery. The patient retained consciousness until the very last.

He is survived by his wife, who is not in the best of health and four children, Alvin, Daniel, Minnie and Louis. The funeral was held this afternoon from the family home on College street, Rev. Lyle officiating, and interment was made in the Alden cemetery.

Edmund W. Hall was born at Moore's Forks, N. Y., in 1843. He attended school there until he was twenty and then with his father moved west settling first in Albert Lea. His father was a farmer and shortly afterward he settled on a claim in Section No. 31 in Manchester township. Edmund took a claim in Section 20 and later purchased 750 acres near there, part of which he bought for $4.00 an acre. In 1868 he married Miss Clara Kenyon of La Crosse. Miss Kenyon's parents came to this county a little before the Halls, Mr. and Mrs. Hall moved to Albert Lea in 1903 on account of Mrs. Hall's health. Mr. Hall has never given up farming, however, and each summer, has found him out in the country managing operations.
