Funeral services were held Monday, November 2, for Daniel K. Hall, who passed away Friday evening, October 30, at the Naeve hospital in Albert Lea. Services were held at the Pfaff Funeral Chapel at ten o'clock, after which the body was taken to Alden where services were held at two p.m. in the Methodist church. The Rev. Burton Passer of the Waseca Methodist church was in charge of the services here and the Rev. Obed Asp, pastor of the Alden Methodist church, officiated at the two o'clock service. At the Alden service, Mr. Warner Nettleton of Albert Lea, soloist, sang "Nearer My God To Thee" and "O Master Let Me Walk With Thee," accompanied by Floyd Hughes at the organ. Serving as pallbearers at the Alden service were Blake Patton and Selmer Hansen, Waseca; Pete Jensen, Kasson; Oscar Emrud, Floyd Fink and Russell Abbe of Alden. Mr. Hall had been in poor health for the past several years and was taken to the Albert Lea hospital Tuesday, October 20, where he passed away at the age of 81 years.
Daniel K. Hall was born February 23, 1878, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund W. Hall. His marriage to Julia Babcock of Spring Valley, Minnesota, took place on June 27, 1908. The couple made their home in and around Alden until 1939 when they moved to Waseca where Mr. Hall was engaged in the car selling business. Mrs. Hall passed away at the Waseca hospital on March 24, 1952. Mr. Hall is survived by six children: Everett, Detroit Lakes; Elliott, Emmons; Harvey, Waseca; Mrs. Edward P. (Harriet) Reunie, Arlington, Virginia; Stanley (Jack), Waseca; and Mrs. Burton (Helen) Anderson, Waseca. He also leaves fifteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
