A funeral was held Friday for Sherwood Kimes, 81, of Hampton, who died Wednesday in a Hampton hospital.
Mr. Kimes had lived at Bena for a number of years. He was a native of Maryland and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. E. V. Bowen of Baltimore, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted in Hogg Funeral Home by the Rev. A. Kenneth Lambdin, Jr., pastor of Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
Burial, with military rites, was in a private cemetery at Bena.
