Services Friday For Resident, 90
Mrs. Emma Linville, 90, a lifelong resident of Decatur County, died at 5 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital here.
For several years she had been in declining health. Her condition had been serious in recent weeks.
A native of the Kingston community, she was the daughter of James and Mary Oakley Carr. She was born on June 11, 1875. She was reared near Kingston.
Her marriage to Clarence W. Linville took place at Greensburg on Aug. 18, 1892. Her husband preceded her in death on April 4, 1961.
Mrs. Linville had resided in the Clarksburg and Springhill communities before locating in Greensburg about 30 years ago. For a number of years she had lived at 1204 North Lincoln Street. Her husband operated a service station and general store there prior to his death.
A long-time member of the Springhill United Presbyterian Church, she had also been affiliated with Philo Rebekah Lodge No. 75 in Greensburg for 61 years.
Until four years ago she had been on active member of a home demonstration club. She was a member of the W.S.C.S. and the War Mothers.
The survivors include: a son, Bernie Linville of Greensburg; two daughters, Mrs. Bernie (Mary) Humphrey of Greensburg and Mrs. Eli (Thelma) Barlow of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Claude J. Linville and Charles Linville, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery.
