CHINA GROVE - Pauline "Polly" Tutherow, 75, of China Grove, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Carolinas Medical Center, NorthEast, Concord. Born Nov. 13, 1934, in Rowan County to the late Lloyd and Edna Reynolds Tutherow, she attended China Grove High School. Polly was a member of Landis Baptist Church and worked in the church nursery for 56 years. Ms. Tutherow retired from China Grove Textiles in 1999 after 48 years of service as a winder tender. Polly took her mother into her home and took care of her with tender love and care for 27 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Tutherow; and sisters Margaret Basinger, Delores Faggart. Survivors include brother Clifford Tutherow (Norma) of Kannapolis; sister Ruth Hanes of China Grove; sister-in-law Betty Tutherow of Rockwell; numerous nieces and nephews whom she treated and considered as her own children and grandchildren; five nieces; six nephews; 10 grand-nieces; 11 grand-nephews; 12 great-grandnieces; and 12 great-grandnephews. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Landis Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Billy Honeycutt. The body will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials: May be made to Landis Baptist Church, 110 N. Kimmons St., Landis, NC 28088.
