David N. Gordon was the son of Sally "Sarah" Watts and Jackson Gordon. He married Luann "Annie" Mullins in 1863 in Winchester, Clark County, Kentucky.

David was a Civil War Soldier 1861-1865. He was in the 7th Regiment of The Kentucky Confederate Cavalry-Company A.

When he died, David was residing at the Pewee Valley Kentucky Confederate Home. The Kentucky Confederate Home sheltered almost a thousand Civil War Veterans in Pewee valley, Kentucky from 1902-1934. It was called "My Old Confederate Home" and it was considered a respectable
place for Civil War veterans.

David was buried on December 13, 1928. He had Dementia and Exhaustion as cause of death. His informant was The Cconfederate home.
