Thomas W. Griffith Dies of Heart Attack

Funeral services were held from Whitesand Baptist Church Wednesday, May 25th, at 3:30 P.M., for Thomas W. Griffith, age 59, who died of a heart attack at the family home Tuesday. Mr. Griffith was severly injured a few years ago when mules ran away with a stalk cutter he was operating and had found it necessary to use crutches in getting about since the injury.

Rev. C. W. Black officiated at the final rites and interment was made in the church cemetery with Aultman-Saulters Funeral Home in charge. Pall bearers were Willard Williams, John Hayman, Hubert Wigington, William Sullivan, Thomas Burrow and Reggie Lee.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora Smith Griffith, and the following children: Ethel Griffith of Wanilla, Clarence, W. L. Sam, O. C. and Preston Griffith, Mrs. Bennett Bridges, Mrs. Garland Lee, Mrs. Mike Bridges, all of Prentiss and Miss Mary Griffith of Jackson. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Luther and Clifton Griffith, Mrs. W. P. Evans, Mrs. J. R. Evans, Mrs. L. C. Polk and Mrs. Dewey Coulter.
