(Obituary): James E. Wilson, 76, of Elgin, died Monday, March 1, 2010, in Elgin.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home in Elgin. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Dennis Ammons officiating. Burial with honors will be in Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin.

Mr. Wilson was born July 9, 1933, in Olney, the son of Ralph and Margaret Herrin Wilson. He married Betsy Elaine Wilson. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2004.

He had been a resident of Elgin since 1960. He was owner of Fox Valley Coaches, Inc., and was employed by PACE as a part-time bus driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his three daughters, Mickie-Mae (David) Johnson, of Huntley, Betsy (Jim) Stemple, of Marengo, and Shirldine-Kay Wilson, of Elgin; three sons, William (Maggie) Wolfe, of St. Charles, Phillip Wilson, of Portland, Ore., and James Wilson, of Elgin; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Lietzke, of Winter Garden, Fla.; and two brothers, Roy (Vivian) and Ralph Wilson, both of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Margaret Wilson; wife, Betsy Elaine Wilson; one son, John-Lee Wolfe; one sister, Mary Calvert; and one brother, Robert Wilson.
