Kiel Woman, 73, Killed In Fall At Home
Kiel – (Special) – Miss Emma Bunge, 73, was killed early this morning when she tripped and fell down a flight of stairs at her home, 813 Third street.
The body was found lying at the bottom of the stairs shortly after 9 a.m. by a neighbor, Mrs. William H. Mattes. Death was believed to have been instantaneous.Dr. Arthur Teitgen, Manitowoc county coroner, attributed death to a skull fracture. He said Miss Bunge apparently stumbled on a top step and fell down the 14-step stairway to the first floor.
Born January 11, 1877, in the town of Schleswig, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Bunge, Miss Bunge resided on the homestead farm until seven years ago when she and her brother, Hubert, moved to Kiel.
Survivors are two brothers, Hubert and Adolph, Kiel; a step-brother, Frank Mueller, New Holstein, and a step-sister, Mrs. Annie Fischer, Sheboygan.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Meiselwitz Funeral home with the Rev. E. L. Worthman, pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Evangelical and Reformed church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rockville cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home from Friday noon until the time of services.
