Imogene E. Dexheimmer, age 95, died peacefully, Sunday evening, November 20, 2016 at Azura Memory Care of Sheboygan.

Imogene was born on June 13, 1921, daughter of the late Walter and Lydia (Oemichen) Ninmer. She was raised by her aunt and uncle Ervin and Meta Reichwaldt. Imogene attended Hillside Grove Grade School and Kiel High School.

On March 11, 1939 she married Henry Dexheimmer at St. Peter's UCC in Kiel. Together they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1993. Imogene took great pride in being a homemaker and raising her children along with helping Henry on the farm and later in his advertising business. She was also employed at Lake to Lake for many years until her retirement in 1986. She was a faithful member of St. Peter UCC, Kiel where she taught Sunday School and served on the altar committee.

In her free time, Imogene enjoyed reading, especially the daily news and craft magazines. She loved flowers, always having a beautiful garden from which she made floral arrangements for everyone. She especially enjoyed making floral arrangements for special occasions and Sunday service at St. Peter. She had a love for her cats and chocolate. Imogene was known for her quick wit. She was a gracious, kind and loving lady who showed her great faith through her actions, always helping others, giving compliments and always smiling.

Survivors include her three daughters: Diana (Hubert) Nett, Cedar Grove, Sharon (Robert) Laack, Howards Grove and Sharleen (Donald) Mueller, Howards Grove/Pickeral; one daughter-in-law: Georgene Dexheimmer, rural Elkhart Lake; 14 grandchildren: David (Jodi) Nett, Christine (Mark) Issacson, Ann (Paul) Lorge, Barbara Nett, Deb (Jeff) Vrubley, Patty (Jay) Adams, Dan (Sue) Nett, Cathy (Scott) Tipple, Maria (Jeff) Bender, Matthew Laack, Michelle Mueller-Ackley, Laura (Paul) Mannenbach, Andy (Lisa) Dexheimmer, Sarah Wasmer, 37 great grandchildren, and 7great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her five sisters: Mary Lowe, Jane (Robert) Lange, Nancy (Larry) Wynveen, Grace (Richard) Reichart, and Ann (Sam) Salm; two brothers: Thomas Ninmer and Roger (Gail) Ninmer, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son: Dennis, two grandsons: Dean Mueller and Michael Dexheimmer; sister: June Platz; brothers: Ralph Ninmer, Walter Jr. Ninmer, and Robert Ninmer; and sister-in-law: Marcella Hellmer.

Funeral services for Imogene will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, November 25, 2016 at St. Peters United Church of Christ, 424 Fremont St. Kiel. Burial will follow at Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville.
