Her mother Sarah Jane Fanning died 25 Sept 1893 and was buried in Daniel Cemetery, Bethany, Harrison Co. MO along with a number of the Fanning family.

Mary Elizabeth Fanning married 28 Sept 1860 in Harrison Co MO Elisha Blackburn Heath, the son of Rev David M Heath from Daviess Co MO. Rev David M Heath performed their wedding. After the death of her husband, Mary (Fanning) Heath went to live with her daughter Sarah Alice (Heath) Salmon in Hazelton, Barber Co KS, then later with daughter Emily (Heath) Osborn in Gentry Co MO.
