COLONEL LOUIS MILNE, SON OF MAC RESIDENT, DIES IN NEW YORK
Word has been received of the recent death of Colonel Louis A. Milne, army medical corps, port surgeon, at the station hospital at Fort Hamilton, N.Y. He was the son of George W. Milne of McMinnville.
Colonel Milne, who was 63 years old, had been on duty at New York port of embarkation since July 2, 1937. He was born in Kansas and was graduated from the Kansas City Medical College in 1904. He practiced medicine for some years in Lawton, Okla., where he was contract surgeon for the Indian reservation.
Entering his military career on the Mexican border in 1916, Colonel Milne, after a few months of civilian life, rejoined the service in 1917 and served continuously, seeing service in both the Hawaiian and Philippine departments.
