She died Thursday, September 3, 1987, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Custer, SD.
Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City was in charge of arrangements. A memorial was established to the Hill City Senior Citizens Center.
She was born July 29, 1903, at Hill City to Bert and Minnie Prickett. She grew up at Deerfield, and attended schools in the Deerfield area.
She married LeRoy E. Howey December 17, 1921, at Deadwood. They ranched in the Deerfield area until his death December 11, 1960.
She moved to Rapid City and worked in the laboratory at St. John's Hospital.
On September 3, 1963, she married Myles Fitzsimonds at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They lived in Sturgis and Lead. He died May 16, 1970.
Mrs. Fitzsimonds returned to Hill City in 1970, and moved to Custer in 1984.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Hill City Senior Citizens Center.
She was survived by two sons, LeRoy A. Howey of Deerfield and Hugh L. Howey of Albuquerque, NM; four daughters, Rebecca (Mrs. Eugene) Barker of Hill City, Rubana Phillips of Rapid City, Roburta Hunter of Vallejo, CA, and Ramona Lewis of Grass Valley, CA; 27 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, one sister Daisy Howey, one brother Delbert Prickett, and a grandson.
