Bessie Keeling Young, 89, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 after a long tenacious and courageous battle with cancer. Born July 21, 1920, in Paducah Kentucky, to parents Bert and Minnie Keeling. She leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Tommy W. Young, her dearly loved son, Tommy Rhea Young and wife Judy Dunavant Young, and her treasured grandson Hunter Rhea Young. During the final weeks of life, her most beloved niece, Tracy Coleman Vinson of McKenzie TN was her constant 24/7 companion and caregiver. She held the family together with her strength, faith, and powerful prayers. A celebration of the life of Bessie Keeling Young will be held Friday, March 12, at Cherry Road Baptist Church, 1421 Cherry Rd. Memphis TN. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. After the service there will be an escorted procession to Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar, where interment and graveside services will be held.
