Wednesday, August 17, 1983 at St. Vincents Infirmary marked the close of a dedicated and beautiful life when Mrs. Lucille Conelius passed away. She was the daughter of Robert and Mary Evans Livingston. She was born October 25, 1917, at Emmett, Ark.

Her early education was received in the Pine Bluff school district, Coleman district and J.C. Corbin High School, where she was awarded a high school diploma. She received her certification of dietary foods from the U.of A., Fayetteville.

Mrs. Cornelius accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, (then Highland Baptist Church).

She united in holy matrimony to Elijah Vines, Sr. in 1937. Four children were born to this union.

In 1950, she united with the New Town Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, choir and youth director. She was also active in the Women's Missionary Society.

April 1976, she married the late John H. Cornelius and united with the First Baptist Church, Stuttgart. Sis. Cornelius was director of music, Sunday School teacher, class number five, director of young people in the Women's Missionary Society. She served as director of the First Baptist Childcare Center.

Sis. Cornelius served Central District Association as President of the Music Convention, Music Director, Assistant Secretary of District Congress, Assistant Registrar for State Congress of Education.

Her active role in the district, state and national work exemplified her dedication. Her children shall always remember her as the loving and devoted mother she was. Her instructions and family prayer shall ever remain as a guide for her children.

Survivors are: two sons; Eddie Vines, Stuttgart, Ark, Sellars Vines, Kansas City, KS. two daughters; Bobbie Jackson, Pine Bluff, Ark., Mary L. Chestnut, Kansas City, KS. fifteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, a host of other relatives and friends.
