Turner was the 8th known child of Absalom B. & Barbara Alfrey Clark. He served with 3 of his brothers: Henry H., Absalom C. & Fielden D. and brother-in-law, Christopher Harlow in Co. G 79th Il. Inf. in the Civil War. He married 1st 26 Dec. 1865 Cahterine Harrison (1843-1882). He maried 2nd 21 Nov. 1890 Catherine Ellars Webster(1847-?) his 1st wife's cousin. They div and he married 3rd 7 Sep. 1904 Ruth Ellen Larson Bronson (c.1853-?). He had 5 children: Elizabeth "Lizzie" Brann (1869-1888), Ada J. Jeanguenat (1870-1953), Benjamin Wilson Clark (1872-1958), Marriotte A. "Otto" Clark (1876-1944) and Maybelle (1880-1880).
