Joseph Balch, born around 1658 at the Balch homestead, was one of the youngest to die in this battle; this may be why a probate record for him has not been located. He was the child of Benjamin Balch (son of Benjamin the immigrant) and his first wife Sarah, daughter of Thomas Gardner.
