Son of Francis Barnard. Lived in Hadley, Hampshire County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Among the teamsters killed at Bloody Brook. The teamsters were hauling grain to storage, under the protection of Captain Thomas Lothrop and his soldiers.

1. BARNARD, Francis, b. abt. 1617; maltster at Hartford, 1644; was one of the first settlers, of Hadley, 1659, freeman 1666, also of Deerfield, 1673; retired to Hadley in Philip's war, where he d. Feb. 3, 1698, ae. 81.
He m. bef. Aug. 15, 1644, Hannah Marvin; (2) Aug. 21, 1677, Frances, dau. Nathaniel Foote, wid. of John Dickinson, and dau. of Nathaniel Foote.

May 13. 1739.
