BURLINGTON, Sept. 13 - Funeral service for George Nathaniel Underwood, 52, Burlington, route 5, who died Sunday evening at a local hospital following an illness of several months, was held this afternoon at Rich and Thompson chapel by was in Pine Hill cemetery.
He was the husband of Mrs. Mamie Smith Underwood, a native of Guilford county and son of George and Mrs. Alice Cox Underwood. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mable Prather and Mrs. Bellie Prather; two sons, Connie and George Underwood, Burlington, route 5; two sisters, Mrs. Sue Green, LeGrange, Ga., and Mrs. Bettie Dickerson, Blair, Va., and two brothers, Z. L. Underwood, Gibsonville and Rev. J. C. Underwood, Spray.
