Elida "Ella" Falcon Herrera, 77, passed away March 26, 2010 with her loving family at her side. She was born July 13, 1932 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jose and Maria Falcon. Ella attended Corpus Christi High School where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Hi-Fairnessee Club from 1950 until 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
Ella is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Oscar G. Herrera; sister Josephine Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas; 5 children, Norma Jean (Albert) Garcia of Houston, Texas, Oscar F. (Kathy) Herrera of Corpus Christi, Texas, Delia H. (Eliseo C.) Gonzales of Corpus Christi, Texas, Loretta Ella (Ralph) Pena of Houston, Texas and Elizabeth (Bebet) Herrera of Corpus Christi, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Albert Jay Garcia, Christal G. Flores, Tammy Vasquez, Stephanie Gonzales, Robyn Pena, Brittany Herrera, and Ryan Pena; 5 great-grandchildren, Erin Garcia, Brandon Garcia, Kaylee Jamison, Elena Vasquez, Jose Angel "Baby Joey" Flores.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors 4901 Everhart. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Corpus Christi Cathedral. Services to conclude at the Cathedral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Herrera's name to the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
