WIDOW OF ALBERT BURGER
WAS BORN 76 YEARS AGO
IN SAGINAW COUNTY.
A member of one of the first families to settle in Kochville township, Mrs. Ida Burger, widow of Albert Burger, died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. M. Wintermute, in East Lansing. She was 76 years old.
Mrs. Burger, whose maiden name was Ida Marti, was born Jan. 17, 1859, in Kochville township and was married there 55 years ago to Mr. Burger. He died in 1932. Mrs. Burger devoted her attention to her family and her church-Kochville M.E., in which she was an active worker and leader in affairs of the Ladies' Aid society.
She leaves two sons and two daughters, Mrs. H. B. Cowan of Alberta, Canada; E. A. Burger of Detroit, Mrs. Wintermute of East Lansing and L. H. Burger of Saginaw county; 14 grandchildren, one-great-grandchild and six sisters and brothers, Mrs. William Bueker, Mrs. John T. Bueker and Fred Marti of Saginaw, Prof. Oscar Marti of Warrensburg, Mo., Henry Marti and Mrs. Arthur Cox of Colfax, Wash. A son, Charles Burger, died January 1,
A brief service was to take place Monday afternoon at East Lansing and the funeral will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the home of her son, L. H. Burger, Mackinaw road, and at 2:30 p.m. at Kochville M. E. church. Rev. Arnold F. Runkel will officiate and burial will be in Kochville cemetery.
