BURKHART, Ozias "Oz" It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ozias Burkhart of Drayton on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the age of 74. Oz was the loving husband of Alice (Bauman) for more than 50 years. He will be sadly missed by his children Sharon and her husband Brian Viknanek of Oro Station, Derrick and his wife Delphine (Martin) of Elmira, and Pamela and her husband Doug Woodburn of Drayton. Grandpa will always be remembered by Matthew, Marissa, Aaron, Cole, Teaghan and Zackery. Oz was the brother of Ivan of Elmira, Nancy Bolton of Enderby, BC, and Ibrey of Kitchener. He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Rebecca and his brothers Owen, Sylvester and Allen. His death also leaves a vacancy in the Bauman family circle. Through his steadfast faith, his life of hard work and quiet strength, the contributions Oz made to community, his church and beyond are too numerous to list. As just one example, he volunteered for many years to help rebuild shattered communities throughout North America with the Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS). In his honour, memorial donations to MDS or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Friends and extended family are welcomed to join with us to share memories of Oz at Community Mennonite Fellowship, 109 Wellington Street, Drayton, on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm and on Monday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service to celebrate Oz's faith and life will take place on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 2 pm at Community Mennonite Fellowship, Drayton followed by interment in Elmira Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira. www.dreisingerfuneralhome.com
