Rosario Candela was a noted architect and cryptographer in New York City from 1915-53. He was a member of the class of 1915 at Columbia University. He built many fine co-op apartments along Park and Fifth Avenue. He was born in Montelepre, Sicily outside Palermo, and married Felicia Sberna on July 8, 1917 at St. Cecelia's on 107th Street. They had three children, Michael, Joseph and Basil.
