Mr. Amos Slaughter, age 67, Route 1, Esom Hill, GA., passed away Monday, September 17th, 1984 in Polk General Hospital. Mr. Slaughter was born October 13, 1916 in Cherokee County, Ala. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Velma Crawford Slaughter of Esom Hill; three daughters, Mrs. Don Wheeler and Miss Connie Slaughter, both of Esom Hill, Mrs. Pat McAlpin of Tallapoosa, GA. two brothers, Mr. Ralph Slaughter of Nashville, GA.; Mr. Clarence Slaughter of Jacksonville, Ala.; Two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Outz of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Willie (Bill) Slaughter of Dalton, GA.; 12 Grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 18, in the Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Hobart Pierce, the Rev. Robert Wright officiating interment followed in the Shiloh Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roy Price, Donnie Howard, David Jones, James Keel, Edward Lackey, Eddie Lackey. The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home of Cedartown was in charge of the arrangements.
