Tom Cat was a large black cat the pet cat of the Confederate troops who occupied Ft. McAllister through the War Betwween The States. Tom is buried somewhere on the grounds of the fort. He was their loyal cat through the battle and to the end when Sherman ended his sickening "March To The Sea" when he unnecessarily destroyed Georgia.
