Columbus Rickman moved to Young County with his mother and brothers in 1873. The family lived south of Graham for a time while Columbus Rickman worked on area farms and ranches. Columbus went to work for Norris Hardware in 1880. By 1899, Columbus Rickman purchased Norris hardware and ran the business until 1919. He became a tinner in 1919 and ran the business from the back of his home. He was a tinner until his death in 1941.
We, C.M. Rickman and wife, Carrie Rickman, confer upon Mary Elizabeth Ranspot, a minor, our legal heir. We make this adoption because said minor has been abandoned by her father for a period of more than three years.
