Mr. & Mrs. Singer were both Jewish, and, when Mr. Singer came to this cemetery, his stone was engraved with the Star of David.
Years later, when Mrs. Singer followed him, the engraver made a mistake and inscribed a crucifix above her name on the reverse of the headstone...Oy vey is meir! It was QUITE an unveiling!....and here it is...Oy! Oy!.
The cemetery is working on it and the headstone will have to be totally replaced.
Don't worry Mrs. Singer...it's alright...HE knows and WE know.
At least you got a nice spot, right near the road.
