Morgan-Charles Tonks, 87, lifelong resident of Morgan, died here this morning at the home of a son, Cecil Tonks.

Mr. Tonks was a farmer and stockman and had farmed in the Round Valley area.

He was a member of the LDS Church and a high priest in the Morgan Stake.

He was born May 23, 1868, in Morgan, a son of William and Martha Derricott Tonks.

On Dec. 3, 1890, he married Catherine Robison in the LDS Logan Temple. She died June 10, 1950.

Surviving are five sons and four daughters: Charles W. Tonks, Cecil Tonks, Frank Tonks, Lewis Tonks, Mrs. Laural (Vera) Mortenson and Mrs. Charles (Maggie) Kippen, Morgan; Wesley Tonks, Edmonds, Wash.; Mrs. George (Vernocia) Peck, Pocatello, Idaho, and Mrs. Douglas (Myra) Lee, Bountiful; 34 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in the LDS Morgan Stake House by Bishop Earl Butters of the South Morgan Ward.

Friends may call at the home of Cecil Tonks Friday at 4 p.m., and Saturday until 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the South Morgan cemetery, directed by Lindquist and Sons Colonial Funeral Chapel, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden.
