WHEAT, Abb - Of Flint, age 66, died Saturday, June 7, 1997 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Tuesday, June 10, 1997 at Grace Lutheran Church, 2526 Corunna Road in Flint, Pastor Walter J. Oelhafen officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to McLaren ICU or CCU. Visitation 6-9PM Sunday and 1-9PM Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Wheat will be at the church from 10AM until time of the service on Tuesday. He was born in Fulton, Arkansas on January 10, 1931 and was a resident of the Flint area for most of his life. He married Clara Hightower on Febraury 27, 1958. He attended Grace Lutheran Church. Mr. Wheat was a retired member of Local 324, Operating Engineers. Surviving are his wife, Clara; 5 children, Daniel of California, David, Katherine Sprague, Steven and wife Wendy and Jeffrey, all of Flint; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Presley.
