Born Luisa DiSalvo, the daughter of Angelo and Vincenza in Canicatti, Sicily. In Feb. 1906 she married Guiseppe Mannara. Sometime after the birth of their 1st daughter he went to America to earn enough money to bring his family over so they they could pursue the American dream. He returned to Sicily, then the family immigrated to US in 1914. Her parents and siblings followed. She was a homemaker, deeply devoted to her husband and their 11 children: Carmella, Jennie, Angie, Clara, Donald, Angelo, Anthony, Mary, Peter, Joseph and Louise. She had cancer but died from complications of a stroke and a fall.
