Funeral services for Mrs. J. T. Riney were held Sunday, November 26, at the First Baptist church in Canton, with the Rev. A. F. Moncrief, pastor of the church officiating. Music was furnished by Judy Rickards, with Mrs. Marvin Zenge at the organ. Pall bearers were Olen Fretwell, Harold Fretwell, Roby Fretwell, James Jenkins, Russell Bayne and A. C. McReynolds. Burial was in the Providence cemetery. Mrs. Riney died Friday, November 24, in Kirksville Osteopathic hospital. Alvertie Riney, the daughter of Sidney and Annie Oard Fretwell was born near Williamstown on August 29, 1886. She was united in marriage to J. T. Riney on May 26, 1912. They farmed for many years, but retired and moved to Canton in 1942. Mrs. Riney had been employed by Culver-Stockton college. Mrs. Riney was a member of the First Baptist church in Canton. Survivors include her husband; nieces and nephews; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and three sisters.
