In about 1800, when she was a young girl, her parents migrated westward and settled for a time in Fleming County, Kentucky. There she married Robert Gilkerson, the son of Robert A. Gilkerson, on 1 Nov 1808 (alternate date: 29 Oct 1808, given as an alternate marriage date, was probably the license date).
Around 1816, the Hunt and Gilkerson families moved to Sullivan County, Indiana.
Anna and Robert were the parents of nine children:
John D. Gilkerson was born in Fleming County, Kentucky in 1815. Cynthia Ann, Sarah, Martha, Benjamin H, James M, Edith H, Mary H, and Lydia Jane were all born in Sullivan County, Indiana.
Anna and Robert raised their children in and around Sullivan County, and were well-known in that area. They are both buried in Timmons Cemetery.
