Arthur Lee Free was born on 12 October 1886 in Louisville, Alabama, to William Alson Free and Mary Jane Arrington. Arthur married Bessie Pearl Bice, 19 November 1909, in Zack, Texas. Two of his brothers married her sisters. Arthur and Bessie's children were Etta Ray, Raymond, Velma Lee, Claude Wallace, Eula Pearl, Elsie Bernice, Catherine Gussie, Ella Louvicia, Janie Ruth, Inda Eva, Ethel Marie, and Arthur Marsh Free. Four of their children died as toddlers. Arthur Lee Free died, 29 April 1976, aged 89, in Bryan, Texas, and was buried with his wife at College Station Cemetery in College Station, Texas.
