He was born a son of the late Robert Herman Polk and Ella Katherine Asbury Polk, on August 5, 1950, in Cabarrus County.
The funeral will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Margaret Love officiating. The family will receive friends from 12- 1 p.m. at the chapel prior to the service. Interment will follow at Rutherford Memorial Cemetery in Concord.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Pharr Polk, of the home; four sons, Robbie Lee Polk, of Kannapolis, Lorenzo Eugene Polk (Angela), of Concord, Lamont Antonio Polk and Roger Lee Hampton, both of Kannapolis; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Ella Carol Benson (Bobby), Priscilla Denise Black, both of Midland, Lois Ann Hamilton, of Concord, and Rita Polk, of Kannapolis; and one brother, Kelvin Wesley Polk, of Concord.
