Marvin W. Beatty
Marvin William Beatty, 71, of Mt Jackson was pronounced dead Wednesday at
Shenandoah County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Beatty was born May 1, 1911, in Romney, W. Va., the son of William Henry
and Hannah Sue Poland Beatty.
He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of Stoney Creek
Church of the Brethren, Basye.
He was married to Lillie Delawder.
Surviving are one son, William H. Beatty of Edinburg; two daughters, Shirley
Ann Reynard and Patsy B. Ryman, both of Woodstock; five sisters, Minnie Loy of
Augusta, W. Va., Bessie Leatherman of Keyser, W. Va., and Emma Viser, Violett
Staggs, and Mary Virginia Beatty, all of Burlington, W. Va.; three brothers,
Russell Beatty of Keyser, Richard Beatty of Burlington, and Joseph Beatty of
Annandale; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
A funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home, Mt Jackson,
with the Rev. Samuel Lindsay officiating.
Burial will be in Trinity (Powder Springs) United Church of Christ Cemetery
at Basye.
Pallbearers will be Larry Delawder, Timmy Delawder, Keith Funkhouser, Jimmy
Delawder, Norman Delawder, and James Pitcock.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today between 7 and 8 p.m
