Lizem was a son of Augustin and Harriet (St. Antoine) Boucher. He immigrated at the age of about two. In 1892 Lizem married Seline Emma Duval in Faribault, and the couple had 11 children.
In 1933 his wife Seline was killed tragically by an automobile.
Lizem was married again five years later to a widow, Mary Michelena "Lena" Lenway Carpentier.
The couple moved to Nicollet county, Minnesota where he died in 1948.
