Mrs. Ada Goodnight, 81, 538 Maple, succumbed at 7:45 p.m. Friday in Tipton county hospital after an illness of four months. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Leatherman-Morris Funeral home with Rev. Lester Henry officiating and burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Goodnight was born January 7, 1878 in Decatur county, the daughter of Enoch and Lucinda (McNew) Rhoades. She was married in 1896 to William Junkin, and following his death was married in 1919 to Joseph Ballard, in Tipton. He also preceded her in death. November 7 1953, she was married to Omer Goodnight and he survives. She attended school in Greensburg and was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness church.
Survivors, in addition to the husband, include nine stepchildren, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
