Here is the article about what happened

Investigators are trying to piece together a startling murder - suicide, as police say a patient killed his doctor before turning the gun on himself.

Doctor Edna Makabenta was shot at her office Monday.

Contact 13 has learned more about Dr. Makabenta and the patient who attacked her, accused killer Eliseo Santos.

49-year-old Dr. Edna Makabenta was born and raised in the Philippines. She graduated from medical school in the Philippines before moving briefly to California.

She completed her internal medicine residency here in Nevada at UMC and got licensed in 1995.

She has no significant complaint history with the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners and no disciplinary record.

A source close to the investigation says Dr. Makabenta was one of 11 doctors Eliseo Santos was seeing for treatment of prostate cancer and many other ailments.

Dr. Makabenta had recently ordered a nurse to care for Santos in his home.

Action News is currently working to find her to learn more about what might have been behind Santos' decision to take a gun to his doctor appointment this morning and shoot Dr. Edna Makabenta.
