Mrs Margaret Savilla Adams, widow of the late Charles W Adams, died at her home in Sharpsburg, Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, after an illness of a few days from hemorrhage of the brain, age 73 years. Her husband Charles W Adams, met death, it will be remembered, by being shot while superintendent of the Antietam Battlefield. In 1883, Mr Adams in partnership with James P Matthews, entered in to the publication of The Herald and Torchlight, a weekly newspaper of this city. He conducted the business department of the paper until the autumn of 1890, when a stock company was formed and the present Morning Herald started it publication.
Like her husband, Mrs Adams was a well known and highly respected citizen. She is survived by the following children; Miss Katherine F Adams and Mrs Garrott, wife of Dr E M Garrott of Sharpsburg, and two sisters, Miss Maria Theresa Kretzer, Sharpsburg and Mrs J W Seiss, Baltimore. Mrs Adams was a life long member of the Lutheran Church. Funeral Tuesday; services at the home at 3:30 pm. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery.
